50% Screened - 50% Limited Unscreened
At MS 177 50% of students are screened while the other 50% are selected through a limited unscreened process.
What Does Screened Mean?
MS 177's screened admissions process reviews students' academic records, New York State ELA and Math scores and includes an interview with the student. The school considers student grades, attendance and lateness when reviewing academic records, as well as teacher comments. MS 177 does not consider 3rd grade scores. Siblings are not given priority or special consideration.
What Does Limited Unscreened Mean?
The limited unscreened process is essentially a lottery for applicants with special consideration given to student who attend and sign in to an information session, school tour or open house event.
